Practice makes perfect? Well, at least practice makes better…the more we practice almost anything, the better we become at it.
Our brains follow this same rule if we practise acting in a way we want to act. For example, if we pretend to be more enthusiastic about something, or more generous, we will soon notice we start to feel more enthusiastic or generous.
Even simply trying to “under-react” to problems we may otherwise over-react to, or pretending to be a very verbally grateful person, practice doesn’t always make “perfect”, but it almost always makes “better”.
Whichever well-thought-out changes you may want to make to your typical mindset, ACTING how you want to feel, very quickly FEELS the more natural way of acting.
