Could there be a universally applicable ingredients list for a happy life?  

It seems that there are some general requirements for improving our physical health like a balanced nutritional diet, adequate sunlight, fresh air, exercise and so on.  And although the specific nature of each of those elements may vary depending on the individual’s genes, personal environment and preference, there are clearly certain elements that influence our physical health more than others.

Perhaps the same is true for mental health and capacity for happiness? What are the elements of our lives that most influence our happiness?
