Spontaneous Trait Transference

“Spontaneous Trait Transference” is a psychological process in which, when talking to a person, the traits that we describe of a third party, also become associated with us, the storyteller.

If we tell a friend that a colleague is very funny, the friend associates the trait with us as well as the colleague.

So if you next describe someone as loving, or arrogant, honest or sly, compassionate or ignorant, you may have more power over your own perception than you thought.
